Xbmc Cd Drive
« on: June 16, 2004, 07:37:00 PM »

i just got my xbox moded. when i try to play divx, avi files from the dvd drive , it reads as empty. from what i am aware, its supposed to allow viewing from both the hard drive and the dvd rom. the files in my hard drive play perfectly, but when i try to play it from the dvd drive, it does not pick it up. even when i go into the file manager, it reads as 0 MB. how can i view my divx movies from my cd drive? to explain, i have a lot of movies already burned on cds, and i want to conserve hard drive space.

PLEASE HELP...  <

Can your xbox read other things off of the same CD's?  Most dvd drives don't handle CD-R's too well.  So I would try that first.  Most do seem to handle CD-RW's though.  <

hey shznyt....arrgghh.....thanks...i tried playing it on a cd-rw, and what do you know..it works.....great...so all my cd-r's are useless...is there a way to fix this issue? perhaps a way to change the cd drive?

i have another question for anyone out there ..apparently i took some screenshots with the xbmc by pressing the left thumb stick, so my question is, where do they go? they are not in the e:SCREENSHOTS folder...where could they have gone?

i love my xbox, but its driving me insane....PLEASE HELP
thank you  <

samsung drives are supposed to support cdr's.  Can usually find some on ebay, but usually cost about £60-£70     <

it depends what dvd drive u have.. check to see if u have a philips, thomson, or samsung..

i assume u dont have a samsung because it cant read CD-Rs

however not all ur CD-Rs are wasted.. u have to test and see which one ur drive likes..  <
