Find Out The Version

i was wondering how you find out what shipment or version your xbox 360 is cuz ive been having some problems and its been freezing and scratches need for speed most wanted so i wanted to know if it was the first shipent or what

Here's how you tell what version you have:

-hold the case in front of you and look at the lid
-examine the color of the case
-if it's white you have a V1.0
-it it's not white you're not holding a 360

well I guess I'm the first one with v2.3 - thats what the sticker says on the back, I just got mine back from a Canadian repair center.  Can't see any real differences - other than no freezing of course, and the colour seems to be proper now using the HD VGA cable - before the whites were kinda "burned" in . . .
