360 Dev Kit Question
« on: March 09, 2006, 11:08:00 AM »

I recently got my hands on an Xbox 360 dev kit. But i can't get games to play on it. It keeps going back to the Xbox dashboard. Can someone tell me how to get games to play? There were a bunch of executable files on it as well in addition to the dashboard option, but those didn't seem to do anything.  Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I really dont think he needs proof just so you can reply, but to answer the question  a xbox 360 dev kit and a xbox 360 debug unit simply cannot play retail games, thoses kits are made to debug games and development xbox 360 games. If the person had some debug xbox 360 games they will play just fine. And I know the dev kits comes with a 60gb hard-drive,its enough room to test games and run debug games right from the hard-drive,of course the xbox 360 debug unit can do the same also which comes with a 40gb hard-drive.

Dev kits need the 360's XDK to work properly for developers which is only legal if you have a contract with them which I suspect you don't. Maybe you can connect to the live servers for an update perhaps ?

please explain what you mean by "devkit" there are many versions out there... sadly NONE will play retail games at present.

which one you have determines what possible course of action you have and therefore the usefulness of your "devkit"
