Help, Can't Set Digital Output

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere but search is offline right now.

I have a problem with my xbmc using a 3rd-party advanced AV pack.

My amp recieves digital audio fine, but XBMC refuses to allow me to change the setting in My Music from analog to digital despite the fact that it is outputting digital already. Because of this I can't select AC3 passthru.

The setting is always on analog, and it's greyed-out so I don't get to change it.

Anyone know of a reason for this, and perhaps a way to fix it?
Im using the 06-06 build, but I've had this problem with all builds of xbmc so far.

Enable digital out in MSDash audio section.  <
