Or is it the same deal as xbox (capacitor)?

Nope.  The clock auto-sets via LIVE or if you don't have LIVE (or an internet connection) then you have to reset the clock manually each time you cut the power.

Yeah, it's kind of disappointing.  When I saw the Ourcolony vid, I saw a battery on the board, and thought "YES! We don't have to put up with that capacitor anymore."  Well, it turns out I was right, there is no capacitor... but no battery either.  It is worse than the previous system (In that regard  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ).  Oh well.

thats a bummer. but i supose m$ figure that as most people will have xbox live (silver atleast), then that shouldnt be a huge problem

Nah.  As soon as people start complaining, they're gunna come out with a UPS that ONLY works with the 360.

Then they'll stop syncing via Live, saying it's "security protocol."   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

how would it be cool? adding another huge big brick of batteries would NOT be cool.

what about a bigger psu with battery backup built in? I know I wouldn't waste my money, so I doubt it would even get remote consideration.
