However, the appearance of the camera is now apparently drawing extremely close, as it's been debuted and demo-ed to leading developers in the last week. It might even be unveiled at this year's Game Developers Conference in March, although E3 may be more likely.

Speaking exclusively to CVG, development sources said they'd been impressed by the camera's credentials, although anyone expecting an EyeToy-style gameplay revolution may have to hold their fire for the moment. The demo was largely confined to Messenger-style chat functionality, allowing you to see as well as speak to your friends and relations across Xbox Live and of course indulge in live video chat.

So did they plan to manage two streams (in and out) within 64kbit/sec? Good luck!

Oh I forgot, that whole 64kbit was a BS excuse for not implementing voice conferencing with more than one person.

And how about fixing the dvd player among other things before adding more functionality?

Most likely, the update rate of the image will be low, as with most webcams now.

I cant wait to see some harry pedofile's ass plastered all over live (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ... I just hope gamer pics cant be custumised to pics cause that's gonna cause issues... really I can see this entire camera thing being a huge mistake, but real neat for the normal people out there..lol

I REALLY DON'T need to know I just got myself Owned in PGR3 by a 9 yr old Chav.

con-you get to see a naked fatass on your screen and seeing that you got owned in PGR3 by a 9 yr old
pro-naked stripper and now you can randomly flash people for reson at all

By not including the Eye-toyish games, they might have a plan to roll those games out as Arcade games. Since the Eye-toyis games arent very complicated. That would also be easier for people to use, as you wouldn'thave to find the discs and stuff.

If you read what MS has been saying about it, it won't be used in game at all. They claim it will be for MSN messenging with video on the xbox.

I am sure that their are plenty of security issues. For example they have the muting feature for chat so why not have the block images feature. They will also have reporting feature which usually doesnt do anything just causes more problems for MS to deal with.

Heck, the lawsuits will be pouring in. Some phedofilia is chatting with kids and showing them his gear, woo.

I am sure they have thought about all this, but who knows people bypass this protection regularly.

I hope however, they have different cameras, so that i can get the best out.
