Dot Count, What Does It Mean?
« on: January 19, 2006, 01:33:00 PM »

i was looking at specs and was reminded that they included a dot count in the spec list for both the ps3 and 360.  what does a "dot count" have to do with gaming and why has it never been listed on previous console spec sheets?  i have some assumptions but nothing for sure and google and wikipedia gave me nothing.  any comments or answers would be cool, just something to throw out there out of curiousity.

if he did then that is one of the very few of his posts that i have missed.  i read the explenations on shadows and frame rates but i dont believe he gave any other technical explanations other then his smaller comments on the individual systems positives and negatives.  if he really did answer then sorry for the repeated question, it was just buggin me because it would seem to be nothing more then another bloated spec to add to the list of useless info.
