I was wondering how many types of DVD-ROM are in the 360 today. Mine seem a little loud when loading, slightly louder than my NEC 16X burner. Anyone got one that is really quite? Please share your DVD-ROM noise level. Thanks

Actually mine is quite quiet. At least the Xbox 360 as a whole. I did however notice that side-by-side my old xbox is a little bit louder than the 360. I don't even hear mine! Which is really sad because it sporatically doesn't recognize discs, so I guess that means shipment

mine was pretty acceptable until i started using Dskin CD protector now it sounds like a jet engine. But it works flawlessly

mine is pretty loud. louder than the old xbox. i thought there was a problem with it but it works fine...so far.

Mine is LOUD when playing 360 games. Madden & Quake4 was really, REALLY loud. COD2 was about 1/3 the volume but still noticeable (with the sound down anyway...can't wake the kiddies

mine was quiter then the xbox1, until i used those Dskins, the drive might have to struggle more to read it..But o well i feel safer using them

To the guys with the quiet xbox360's: Do you have core or premium?

My core system was quiet, but my premium sounds like a 747...

I'd say mine is pretty much a medium as far as noise level if you have it vertical, Horizontally I find it quiet.

its not very loud during cod2 and pd0, but when i play pgr3 its loud and it sounds like its chewing on somthing during stage loading.

horizontal, rubber feet and premium.

ive yet to play a movie on it, i couldnt stand watching movies on the xbox because it was soo loud when i wanted my volume lower.

Mine is far louder than xbox 1 at the beginning.

It then slowly slows down during gameplay and sometimes spins up on intense loading parts - it doesnt really annoy me - I can easily ignore it and get on wth the game.

I have a premium. And full spun isn't that loud at all! Very quiet! And I am obsessed. My computer quietly wirs and drives me nuts. Xbox 360 doesn't bother me at all.

My premium (bought at launch) is incredibly loud. It makes some pretty weird noises when playing the OXM demo disc too.

It's louder than both my Xboxs for sure.

Mine is very quiet. I have owned countless PC's and all their cd / dvd drives have been much louder.
