ok, i transfered some songs off a cd onto my comp using windows media player, then changed all the names from unkown artist - unkown track to the actuall song names, but now, on xbmc all the songs that i transfered over show up as unkown artist - unkown track, but if i go and look at the acctual file names it shows up with the artist and song name, is there a way to edit the tags or whatever i need to do?  <

Did you just rename the files or edit the id3 tags? I'm not sure but i think XBMC looks for the id3 tags..

I know that you can edit the tags in winamp through file info but I'm there is a more efficient way.  <

what version of windows media player did you use? have you tried to play those files with xbmc?  I used version 8 to rip over 200 cd's and wmp downloaded all the disc info including album cover which xbmc displayed with no problem.  <
