Xbox 360 Wifi
« on: December 22, 2005, 04:22:00 AM »

Hi guys I got my premium 360 yesterday and didnt get riped off so I was very pleased.
Anyway I had a good few hours gaming then decided to hook it up to MCE.
Problem 1 is I have a dlink DWL-G810 gaming adaptor which I borrowed from my xbox 1 to test it so I configured my static IP as per my xbox settings and made sure the IP is not already on the network then it says WIFI birdge detected and WIFI connection fails It detects my wifi network and allows me to input a key however this still does not connect I am thinking that my adaptor is not compatible with the 360 because the 360 orks in a different way.
Problem 2 I though means as my WIFI WAP is about 14ft away I just run a messy cable along the floor to test it.
I have 2 Xbox 1 extenders hooked up I tried to add the 360 using the original extender software updated with rollup 2 it picked it up but said wrong code when it wasn't so I then assumed you had to install the new software which I selected MCE 2005 Rollup 2 installed.
Installed it all picked it up ok then it was babbling on about I dont have a good enough connection for TV when I can stream HD TS files which are a little bit more mb than SD
After I got the 360 working I shut it down went in the other room to checm my xbox 1 extenders and they were freezing dropping off, stuttering unusable so I then used "system restore" which some times works, this wasnt one of thse times so all I can say is TG for Ghost !
Done a restore and now all is fine.
So another idea would be to remove all version 1 software then install the 360 new software possibly unless someone can vouch that they have a version 1 on a WIFI network and a 360 working flawlessly ?
Thanks in advance.
