I know that the 360 controller is compatible under XP, but does anyone know if the controller can be made to run under Windows ME?

My brother has ME and I got him a madcatz 360 controller for christmas (hoping it will work on his computer (his current game pad is weak)). I haven't tried it out yet so its kinf of a gamble, and I don't want to unwrap his gift, so I'm in a bit of a pickle.

If anyone knows of a way to get it to work please let me know. I am aware of programs that enable the original xbox controller to work on a PC (with the USB adapter), but I have no clue if such a thing exsists/is needed for the new controller under Millenium Edition.
Please help me out.

What do you plan on using for a reciever?

Why would you need a receiver for a wireless controller?

ehhhh, maybe because you need to pick up the signals the controller outputs... wink.gif altough you wont need that if you got a computer with a reciver for xbox360 controllers built in blink.gif

so i'd say that if it's a wireless one, it wont work (unless you know how to mod it, so that it will work...)
but if it is one with wires, it might work for ME, i dont know...

Its not wireless (check the topic description), its a wired contoller. Its a mute point now though, I've decided to return the controller. Instead of trying to fit a square into a round hole I've opted to work with tested success.

I'm just going to run the original xbox controller with an xbox to usb adapter.

On a somwhat related note, for those of you running the Xbox 360 controller under XP, redcl0ud is working on a XBCD for the 360 (32 bit, no 64 bit support is planned as of yet). Soon you won't be forced to use the poorly coded and unflexable driver provided by MS.
