Hey

I know you can get 12v from the DVD power supply, but I would feel much better pulling it straight from the power supply, or the cable going to the HDD.

Why?

I need a power source that can handle up to 2 amps.  I would feel much better pulling this through an 18 gauge wire than a trace on the mobo :/

Since the xbox 360 is just now approaching a month old, all of the pinouts for every particular thing are not known yet. This means that nobody can hold your hand just yet. What you need to do is go ahead and get your meter out and measure each pin to ground for it's potential instead of waiting on someone else to do it for you.

I'm not expecting anyone to hold my hand...just wondering if anyone else has already done the tedious work.

I might use the USB ports...don't know why I didn't think of that

I can run 2amps off the xbox 1 PSU just fine.
