Xbox Controller On 360

Does anyone know if you can use the old controllers on the xbox 360 with a usb adapter? I know the controllers are regular USB with a funky end, so Id rather use my old old controllers when friends come over then buy more at $60 a pop.

Im assuming Lik sang will come out with something like this.

at least.

but for the record, teh xbox controller does not have the m$ chip in in, that is required by all peripherals that work in the 360
