Ok, Ok. Enough Is Enough, Time To Stop The Bickering

A car is way more complex than that... and tires are replacable and are a given that they aren't a car manfacture's thing (though I'm sure ford could still be held somewhat responsibly for choosing the brand ...legally speaking).  What I was talking about was things like say electric window motors or the switches that are supposed to tell them to stop if a child's head is in the way... ford doesn't make that part but are to be blamed if it kills a child.  Similar thing as with other parts under the hood all those doodads and gadgets are made by all sorts of people but if the fuel filter leaks that's ford's problem...  With tires it's easier to pass the buck because who's name is on the outside of the tire?  Now, who's name is on the outside of the xbox?  If your xbox overheats and burns your house down are you gonna sue ATI or the factory that assembled the PSU?

If its the PSU that cuased the problem, of course youd sue M$, and even possibly the factory that made it, but ATI would have nothing to do with the PSU, so your example is a bit....... flawed

now, if the GPU core was faulty enough (which is almost impossible) that it had a surge of votlage and cuased a spark, which led to a fire, of course ATI could be to blame (not a psu manufacturer  happy.gif   )

im trying to keep it within limits, meaing comparing a psu fault to the maker and to ATI is somewhat dumb founded and illogical

I guess you havnt been following what im saying, because you used ATI as an example to a PSU fault........ uhh.gif
Im trying to show, that in thier respective manufacturing areas (ATI with the gpu cores, what ever brand with the DVD-ROM drives, etc) the blame for faults cant soley be brought upon M$ (but surely a look into how they test and ensure efficiency can be looked into deeply)

i just dont see why you would ask such a "retarded" question as you did, using ATI in the same sense as a PSU manufacturer

Oh for fucks sake!!  I was saying ATI or PSU factory... but I didn't mean IF it was the PSU sue ATI I meant if it was anything, as in PSU for the PSU lawsuit or ATI if the gpu over heated and caused the fire... or what about Motorola (that is how makes the Power PC right?) it was 2 seperate examples rolleyes.gif  Now it is 3! in case you aren't keeping up... I was keeping this rather civil and logical but you seem to like to resort to just talking shit...

Either way MS makes the box and sells the box they are to be blamed no matter which part fails inside the box.  End of story... geez this is rediculous.

i was trying to keep it civil also, and i still will, but you need to calm down a little bit, it wasnt my fault the wording of your last response was a little off.
I really dont see how i was "talking shit"? but whatever makes you feel better  jester.gif

either way

OK, and Ford is the one who sold the Explorers, but they didnt get held accountable for their tires blowing apart and cuasing roll over deaths........

and on the basic sense, the 360 is no different then a car in that each has different parts from different companies, that one main company sells as a whole.
So Ford sold a product that cuased actual deaths and wasnt held accountable for a fualty piece on that product, why should it be any different for M$ and the 360?

Again, I AM trying to keep this civil, but if you dont have the patience to respond CIVILY, then please dont, as i dont need to hear basless attacks (i have in no way resorted to talking shit)

ford makes a car, a car is made of LOTS of parts... many of those parts are user serviceable and user changeable so ford buys those parts from sources than can be refreshed at retail or wholesale external to ford themselves. THIS is the reason the tires issues was resolved as it was.

the 360 main unit has no parts that are not supplied by and ONLY by MS at retail, NONE of the internals are user changeable or serviceable without returning to MS... the buck will ALWAYS stop with them.

can we say this is finished now?

well now that you put it that way, i can see why M$, in the consumer mind, should be soley blamed.

I guess i was just hoping that people could think on a more "utopian" level and realize that in the very basic sense, M$ isnt the problem behind some of these faults, other companies are......but that might be asking to much of some people
