3 Noob Questions
« on: June 12, 2004, 02:51:00 PM »

I noticed that the XBMC site is down so I cannot do my research there.

Can you all tell me if XBMC will fit the bill for me?
I'm interested in doing these functions once I get a mod chip:

1) Backup games to XBOX HD to play
2) Stream media (AVIs, MP3, etc) from PC to Xbox for playing
3) Play hi-res movies (DiVX, AVI, etc), from local XBOX HD, and play on my non-D TV through component outputs... will XBMC scale down the HD video to play on my non-HD TV?

thanks so much!

Hey why cant you backup your games with XBMC??

I havent tried but there is a wonderful file manager within the "my files" tab that will allow you to copy files and I believe it'll allow you to make a directory.

So it seems to me that you could do this, although I havent tried.

also, hd(HiDef) movies isn't likely to play on xbmc, xbox simply hasn't got the juice to decode them.  If you are blessed with a dreamx it probably can play atleast a few of them. 720p possible, 1024p/i is less likely.
