Lpc Port?
« on: November 23, 2005, 08:42:00 PM »

oooohhhhh . . . does a happy dance, i may have to buy one of these consoles just to hack the shit outta it.  after all MS would loose money on me, so it wouldnt go against any of my morals ;p

that does indeed look like a lpc port, however if MS learned ANYTHING from their last launch, then it will be some sort of hardware disable of the lpc after their first bios flashing, some little loop that burns just the right transister after everything is in place . . . then again, they we are talking about the same programmers that pioneered ms explorer, the most insecure application know to man, possibly send only to outlook ;p

I will admit it is in the right place though. . . are the insides of the holes rounded, as to make a good connection with the bios programming machine?  also, look for some sort of calibration mark near there, for the little thingy to guide the connector with. . . fascinating

Hmm this is definetly an interesting find. I was wondering if the 360 had an LPC, but i didn't want to crack mine open to find out.

I highly doubt its an lpc, its probably an unused serial port or something similar.

...Also inside the CPU is a hypervisor that verifies the running state of the kernel, making sure there is no modification (RAM checksums), else the Xbox360 panics and blows up!
