« Reply #720 on: October 31, 2007, 10:50:00 AM »

awwwww crap!

i recently finally managed to flash my sammy ms25 premium console with iextrem 1.2

now 2 weeks later i get the 3RRoD - im sure its not a firmware issue..

i get the error code 0020 - when doing the sync up + eject button test..

no signal on tv.. and bootup straight to the 3RRoD..

bummer - its my 2nd 360 premium.. bought at launch. first died after 2 days - got this as replacement.. and now it seems to have died aswell..

im sending it in for repairs - hoping the warranty void sticker isnt looking to bad for them polish workers to notice.

ps - its extra uber crap - cuz i was supposed to swap this for an elite and 5 old games in a store some time next week... sad.gif

Hey,

I have a problem apparently with my AV cable, I turn on my system and wait 25 seconds and then i get 4 red lights every time, i read what to do and tried them all and none seem to work....is there a problem with the system or still the plugs. If anyone has an advice let me know.
Thank You

QUOTE(Nosferatu @ Oct 30 2007, 07:29 PM) *

Happy birthday to me too!  Console #2 just took a #2 on the day after my birthday (I got the Orange Box for my birthday and I was in the middle of playing Portal for the first time).  The funny thing is, this console gave me the 3-ROL almost two years to the day after its manufacture date.

Console #1: 3-ROL with an 0020 error.
Console #2: 3-ROL with an 0102 error.

We'll see if this one gets replaced as fast as my first one (5 days -- see my quoted post above).  I'm not holding my breath.  Maybe I'll get a replacement with the updated cooling internals or the 65 nm chip...  (Still not holding my breath.)

Just an update on my previous post...

I called Xbox support on 10/29/07 to have a coffin sent to me.  As of yesterday (11/07/07), over a week later, I still had not received the box.  I called them back up and gave them my problem ticket number.  The woman told me that my coffin had not shipped yet because there was an "update to their system" on the day that I had originally called, and that screwed something up.  She told me that she would have the box sent to me right away.  We'll see if it actually shows up this time.

Sorry to keep posting updates on my latest broken 360 saga, but this one was too good not to share...

I finally got my coffin yesterday (two weeks after my original call to MS Xbox Support), so I packed up my broken 360 and decided that I would drop it off at the UPS store near my office this afternoon.

As soon as I walked in the door, the UPS clerk on the other side of the room greeted me with: "You got a broken 360?"  I answered, "Yeah, how did you know?"  He replied by pointing to a stack of boxes behind the checkout counter...  There were THREE boxes identical to mine sitting there.

We all know that the failure rate on the 360 is pretty high, but come on...  You know something is seriously wrong when four different people bring four broken 360s to the same UPS store in the same day. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I've had my 360, 10 months and mine stopped loading games, freezing and locking up on the dashboard. So I called Xbox Support and I had the box at my door in 48 hours(I was pretty amazed at this considering some horror stories that are out there).  When I brought mine into the Purolator Pickup location, I was told a similar thing, they see quite a few go through there...but the clerk told me he had one guy bring his console back for repair 8 times.
So far today is day 5 without my 360, it arrived in North York at the M$ Fullfilment center Yesterday Morning...kinda curious how long this is gonna take to get back and if it will even be repaired or if they will just ship me a new one.

I just got my replacement console back from UPS yesterday.  I think it's a brand new one, because the manufacturer date was 10/14/2007.  The strange thing is, after looking inside with a flashlight, I found that it has a "launch" motherboard (the old one with three inductors standing up).  I figured that one manufactured as late as October 2007 would have at least the newer "Zephyr" motherboard.

Does anyone know if they added the new GPU heat sink to the newer launch motherboards, or are those only present on the Zephyr+?  Did I just get a replacement console that has no upgraded internal cooling?

when I took my Xbox into UPS (in a really remote area) they were like Mcallen TX wow another Xbox, and it was an older women someone who wouldnt follow xbox.  I asked her and she said she would get 3-4 per week at her location.  Its amazing because there is barely anyone around that area.

Every single one of my friends that owns a 360 and myself have had them break, that's 5 360s. 4 of them went 3RLOD and one is still working, but the dvd drive sounds like a chainsaw everytime he turns it on, and it takes a really long time to load games. It isn't scratching the game discs, so I told him to just wait until it gets 3RLOD then send it to Microsoft. It's better than giving them $100 to fix it.

I need some advice. My 360 just died on me. Was playing NHL and the screen went funky red (like a cable problem). Jiggle cables, nothing, so I restart. One red ring, bottom right and E74. I called support and their system was down. However, I'm getting the feeling they won't cover this under their 3 year warranty.

I can shoot my story all day; I've had an Xbox for nearly 2 years, currently my 3rd one. I keep it well ventilated, no modding, Xbox Live Gold since Live practically launched, many games, accessories, and....where I am going with this is that the system DIED ON ITS' OWN. I didn't influence it in any way, and I don't feel I should be punished for it by paying $100-200 for repairs, where some chap with 2 more red lights on the front gets it fixed for free.

Whatever shall I do?
