I've read all these post and not sure if anyone thought of this. has anyone and I mean anyone thought of wi-fi interference locking it up. I know that it has 802.11 wifi built-in right. how many other devices in your house or apartment also have that.

cordless phones, highspeed internet,etc..

just a crazy idea, I don't even own one but I'm a tech geek. and haven't seen it mention.

crazier things could happen like ms ship a unit that doesn't work from the start.

sorry to hear of everyone's unit not workin  I would be mad also. was about to reserve mine with ritz camera then held out for a week and then they mentioned shortages and everyone was sold out by then.

WiFi isn't built in; there's a $100 peripheral to use it.  But along the lines of RF interference, I wonder if it's possible that it could be messing up the wireless controllers...

Oh, and not to flame (as it's not my style), but you only need to hit "submit" once...

i remember specifically saying that this launch would be rampant with Defective units a couple of weeks back.    its rushed and a sh*tty design.

the sheer heat buildup in that unit is enough to cause defects over time itself, MS need to think about Redesigning it to be somewhat larger, and Do something about the noise of those fans.

Well.. here's an update.

I called MS today. Called them at 11:30am EST. By 12:00 noon I had an operator on the line.

Well MS has decided to send me out a new console within 3 days according to them.
So well I'm waiting for now.

Some of these posts are just to funny to read..

You know what... who cares... does this look like a PS2 thread??? NO.
Real gamers would buy an xbox360 since the graphics are amazing.
Maybe not as good as a high end pc, but still impressive.

Bottom Line is  - I called MS and within less that a total of 1 hr I have a new console being shipped to me...So what the original one had a defect.. .MS is sending me another one. Props to MS for the good customer support. There are bound to be issues with a new release.. Don't worry. MS are software giants.. look how stable the xbox is.. xbox 360 will be the same..Besides that my other two 360s work prefectly. So i'm not bitchin..

bottom line, you paid 400 bucks got a bum unit, like MANY others, spent an hour of your time on the phone and still aren't playing xbox.  Your post is amusing if any.  I bet if the unit caught on fire you would still be saying "...well these things happen, its a new product and things can't be perfect..."

edit: I'm not bashing the 360,because when it gets in supply and they get next versions w.o all the problems, I'm all over it.

well so far i havent had any difficulties messing around the 360 yet. everything seems to be ok with no hicups. i havent poped pgr3 yet brrn plaing bf2/q4 on my pc... iplay some pgr3 in a few after some grub

Is anyone getting all flashing sectors with E57? Mine did this ever since I played COD2. I have been playing it since I bought it at midnight and just earlier It wouldn't load a level. I restarted it and then it did it. Can't get a hold of M$ but am going to return it to Circuit City for my money back. I'll just get a gen 2 or 3 later. I don't want a new one.

M$ didn't field test these units worth 5hit.
They thought that they could just sneek these by and win... and they did.
