Good Quality Wheels Available 2 December
« on: November 15, 2005, 07:25:00 AM »

Hi,

I've got a question about the two wheels coming out for the xbox360.

Madcatz and joytech both have a wheel included in their 360 accessoires.
Are those good quality wheels? With Force Feedback?

A friend of mine bought a wheel for the xbox, and i had so much fun since a few weeks playing racing games while normally i never play them.

I was thinking of getting PGR3, and a cool wheel with real force feedback to play with ...

Does anybody know which one has the best quality and if they are real FF ?

With kind regards
Marco

I don't think anything has force feedback any more. If I remember right, MS was sued by someone claiming to hold the patents that Force feedback uses.

The Logitec racing wheel for gamecube supports force feedback, and so does just about every racing game available on it.

The xbox360 will have force feedback support i heard....

But the 2 wheels that are available at eu launch.... do they have it ? and are they any good..

I would hate to buy a wheel, to see a month later another one with FF is released...

With kind regards

Guess I was wrong. We are talking about real force feedback and not just vibration right?

yes...

Also you're thinking of the Sony/MS lawsuit over "dual shock" vibration based "force feedback" technology.

Also just because someone was sued doesn't mean you can't use the tech. It just means you have to pay royalties to use it... otherwise what would be the point of owning it.

Also I've heard that there are some Windows Racing Wheels that will work with the 360!

PGR3 does NOT support force feedback. RR6 is reported (falsely I presume) to support FF but its more likely just vibration.

Either MS is bound by their settlement with Immersion to not use their tech for a number of years or dont want to dish out a couple bucks for the FF license per each xbox/360 sold.

It will be interesting to see what Sony does with the PS3 as Immersion owned their behinds in court too.
