Inside The 360 Wired Controller
« on: November 11, 2005, 11:02:00 AM »

I opened my 360 wired controller last night and thought I'd share what I found.

There are two chips inside.

#1 - 8 pin -  Labeled XBOX + some numbers - I believe is a 2 wire serial eeprom such as an AT24C32/64 it operates on 2.5 volts

#2 - 100 pin - Labeled M$ + some Numbers - Microcotroller with one USB port operating at 3.35 volts -ATMEL??

Headset port lookin straight on with the key tabs on the top. Reading left to right

Pin 1 - GND
Pin 2 - DATA
Headset Jack
Pin 3 - DATA
Pin 4 - 3.35 volts

I was planning on monitoring the USB communications between the controller and my computer but I am not running XP. If anyone is interested in doing this, PM me.

I will post more info later.

No pictures?
If you can, get a couple macros/closeups of "points of interest."
