Psu Complaints

First off, I'm not trying to anger anyone, I just wanted to voice an opinion. Don't think I'm attacking you if you posted something about the psu in another thread. That being said...

I don't know about everyone else, but I am getting tired of all the bitching in regards to the 360's psu.

Whoopty-doo if it's big. Who really gives a flying fart in space if it's that big.
Also remember, this is not a pIII 733 with 64 megs of ram. The 360 is some serious hardware. PC CPU's for equivalent hardware arent small either.

If M$ wants to:
 - remove a large heat source from the internal box(prolonging the life of other components)
 - remove a large source of possible interference
 - make the physical 360 smaller(the part you care if anyone see's anyway)
 - make it easier to replace damaged/failed psu's
 - (my favorite, that someone in another topic pointed out) make it that much easier to put a 360 in my car...

...Then I really am not that upset.

I think some people just need something to gripe about.  :P

Honestly people, get a grip. If the physical size of the PSU is your biggest complaint, I think we're in good shape.

I don't understand the fuss about the PSU either.. Look at the gamecube PSU Its HUGE in comparison to the cube itself. Do you hear someone complain about that one?  :uhh:

Common people.
I for one am happy they didnt integrate that (indeed large) thing in the 360 itself. Who cares its big. Most of the people put it out of sight anyway. Behind some audio/video furniture or some kind of closet.   ;) or behind some audio/video equipment

if your mother or loved one was killed by the abuse of using a large psu

my mother was killed when a large psu got angry with  her after calling it a swear word...
she siad (and i warn you dont say this near any large psu's) "damn....thats a large psu!"
out of no where the psu flipped out and went all ninja on my mother...
rest her soul....

so do whats right stand up  cry about it bitch and complain!
its worth it in the end if you save someones life...

I agree I would rather have it external than internal... the size wouldn't be much different...

Now that it's external when they finally manage to shrink it down somewhat we can replace the PSU easily and painlessly...

Also if there are any recalls down the road it's much easier to replace an external PSU unit (remember despite the fact that replaced the cable on the current gen Xbox the problem was really with the PSU, which was much much more difficult and expensive to replace).

with that said I don't mind it at all, just another part of the console thats much easier to replace.

What's funny is this external PSU is probably partly due to the same people whining about how big the original xbox was. <_<

I'm glad its external, but that does not stop me from complaining about the size. I own four Xbox's and a couple of them travel around quite a bit. I have official Xbox carry bags and I can fit everything I need into them (even the new replacement power cords, which take up enough room as it is).

I don't like my chances of fitting this power supply in the bag with the console, so thats going to obviously mean an extra purchase when they bring out 360 carrybags. Its a legitimate gripe, albeit a hollow one, even if all you people who leave your consoles in one place don't think so. :)

A. The 360 is slightly smaller than the original Xbox.
B. You now have wireless controllers, instead of the originals with 9 ft cables.

I would hope that the smaller size, coupled with not having to deal with 2 or 3 controllers' worth of cable, would be enough space to fit the PSU in.
