You want specific examples of how it could, I still say you can't provide those as the games are being designed for the core system (please show me a game that is designed with HD optimization).

Why don't you quote Igataki's remarks when he found out the HDD would not be standard???

even J Allard was telling us way back when...

Remember back before even the unveiling when he was spouting off about how cell phones were great and you got all sorts of content and services without a hard drive... I'm sure you all remember that because it made everyone think that they were getting rid of the hard drive all together... well guess what, he KNEW that they were planning on making it optional and he was hinting at it, even before the unveiling. I'm sure developers knew before they even got their alpha dev kits.

I have, i won't be buying the core or premuim package.  I'm getting the "fell off the back of a truck" package.  It's the best package available.  I get all the features of the premium for 1/3 of the price, and MS doesn't get a dime.

I'm with you on this. I freaking hate the fact that I'm not going to get the most out of my 360 because of the turd package...

The system is going to downgrade your graphics in realtime fo the non HDD and HDtv core users. simmular how to the xbox 1 uses its hardware to run games at 420p.

Beating a dead horse but...

http://www.planetxbo...ticle=862&cat=1

The only way to get proof was to wait and avoid all the speculation.  I don't see how not having a HDD would limit game performance ability and there would simultaneously be a game that required it...

I have to admit I would never have thought a required game would come along, but it does drive home the point about hard drives offering something, maybe not to the one type of game that m_hael had worked on but there are definitely circumstances...
