Im glad it comes with different colors. I thought the white one looks terrible.
The reflection is blinding me  :P  . This way people can choose their colors and the faceplate if they want.

I would get the black one. That would look cool with the green power circle. And black goes with anything.

Peace

I hated the white at first but then saw a picture of it actually in the flesh and I loved it.

Hey guys, look at the picture on the wall directly behind the gray 360.

Do you see the wired box that is behind the console in that picture?

Is this the external power source?  If so that thing is ginormous .

I heard it was big, but that is a little excessive.

If you are refering to the picture hanging on the wall, i believe that is just another xbox 360 laying on its side...

I think he means behind that... looks like a brick like laptops... that's not that big... just the same as any modern laptop... and those are for "portables" this isn't portable.

The power thing was only on the devkits.  Anyway, I want a black 360 come I love the Xbox so much.  It would be like paying homage to my Xbox, the father of all Xboxen.
Might paint mine.

So they have promo pictures with the dev powersupply?? I doubt it.. I'm assuming that's the read deal or a mock up of what the real deal will be.

Think about it.. it's not that big... if you took the current gen's PSU it would be about that size. You guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill ...err PSU :P

Based on the rear view photo on the xbox360 site, I would have to speculate it would not have such a bulky large external supply.  In fact, it looks a lot like it accepts a standard PC power cable.  The photo isn't entirely clear to me, but the shape appears to be a match and it does look like there are 3 prongs.  If it had an external supply, I think we would be looking at more of a 2 prong or a more standard looking DC jack.  From a cost standpoint, I think using a PC cable would be more ideal as it would likely bring down the cost of manufacturing slightly.

The Renders on the official site do infact show a 3 prong adapter but if you were to look at the pictures from the Germany show or the Smart XX beta kit pictures (which are more recent then the renders) it shows the adapter as a 12 prong plug... probably meaning the various voltages are all created within the PSU and brought in under different lines, unlike other devices which bring in 12 or 16 volts and break the voltages out internally.

The PSU is confirmed external, it's not speculation, it's not under debate... it's external PERIOD

you forgot to mention old pictures have 3 prong plugs because at the time of E3 ect the powersupply was internal......but they changed that design for better airflow/more internal room
