Yeah, it really does.  I hope this translates into sales.  We could use some more fans in Japan, plus we get a broader array of games over here.  And when we mod (maybe a year or two, I hope not), we can play them straight off those discs!

MS owned that show. They steped up and delivered. What did Sony have? Jack S#it. Just a pre-rendered Metal Gear Video with a dancing robot.

Didn't we have an OLD Xbox commercial with some chick and a dancing robot?  And it was prerendered?

But I still, for lack of a better word, STRONGLY dislike Sony.  If anyone else can think of a better word than "STONGLY dislike," please tell me.

This is fake, it's not real, It's recycled info which was fake to begin with from June.

Nintendo's games ready for Revolution
A staggering 221 first-party Nintendo classics ready for download
06.06.2005 - 11:21

Nintendo has finished collating and formatting all 221 of its first-party NES, SNES and N64 titles, which will be offered to Revolution users via free download when new the hardware launches in 2006.

According to an article in the latest issue of Japanese games magazine Famitsu, Nintendo will definitely offer every first-party title it's ever published for its three pre-Cube consoles for free download from day one.

Famitsu also reconfirmed that Nintendo will allow third-parties to make any number of their games available, though points out that the pricing of such titles is at the discretion of the publisher in question and as such won't necessarily be free.

While it's clear Nintendo's motive for offering its back-catalogue to customers for free is to shift its new console, third-party publishers have no self-serving motive for giving their games to Nintendo for free, so are expected to use their titles to add purchasing incentive to their own Revolution game releases.

Famitsu has also published new results for its ongoing reader survey, where readers vote for which next-gen console they're most interested in.

Revolution is once again on top, slightly extending its lead with 43% of the vote, while PS3 has suffered a big drop on previous results to 35%, and Xbox 360 has climbed to 22%.

Whether or not these figures will translate to actual real-world market share remains to be seen...

Anyways it would have been great if this info was accurate but it isn't.

Hopefully they will translate the games they make in japan for japanese. Somehow I doubt that though :(

MS will also screw the US over by doing what they did when the Xbox was out, make a cool bundle and custom Xbox for Japan and give us some ugly POS with a couple craptastic games.

MS had 2 versions of the raven demo (the vid your talking about) the first one shown was pre-rendered but MS admitted to it being rendered and was nothing more then a goal to the quality of rendering they hope to achieve.  after the first showing they showed a newer version, at E3 i think, and that time it was real time running using only 800,000 polys.  during that presentation they also showed a room full of ping pong balls on mouse traps being set off to show the physics, and also a graden full of butterflies.  these were tech demos and not commercials by the way  :) .

MS could have gone the tech demo way again and im happy they didnt.  tech demos show a level of quality that isnt possible in real games once the physics, AI, and other variables are set in the game world.  so now unlike sony, no one can say that MS showed anything about the 360 and how they didnt deliver up to that level.  i personally think they have surpassed all their tech demos with the orinigal xbox, unlike sony, but many would probably disagree.

and also for the record the MGS4 video wasnt pre-rendered it was rendered in REAL TIME using the game engine.  a good reason why it looked so good is because there were none of the variables that i mentioned above.  when you have all the graphics power in the system at your control you can dictate how the lighting, camera, textures, polys, and other effect pan out to give you the best picture.  that is why in most, if not all, vids that have real-time cut-scenes (halo 2, RE, jack & dexter, and others) the graphics during the cut scenes eclipse the graphics you see during gameplay.

dont blame MS alone.  if you only knew how many limited edition products gets released over there it would make you sick.  its huge over there and for MS to keep up they have to keep with the trends.  i give MS kudos for doing anything that is possible to gain interest and sales in japan.  whats good there will mean good here as well.  the most important thing to me is the dev support and some of the best games come out of japan.  compared to the other companies MS does good in giving us limited edition stuff.  think about how many games were released with the xbox in LE versions, and they also released the halo xbox in the green.  personally i rather have had the clear/white panzer dragoon orta xbox released over here but no luck.

also if you think the launch here was filled with craptastic games compared to the japanese launch your loco.     they got nothing but games that have been out over here for months (except sneakers) and we got all the games that was released in japan that mattered.  hell japan didnt even get MGS2 on xbox (lucky bastards the game sucked) and the last think MS will do is keep a game from their hometown that they know would give them more loyal fans.
