Triggers have a resolution of 256 points Up down left right on the analog sticks each have a resolution of 128 points... A, B, X, Y, Black, & White are the ONLY buttons under discussion here.

I was incorrect about the light medium hard thing... Plugging my controller into my PC the face buttons do actually register a full 256 resolution.

Though I still think it's a bad idea... If I push A I want the game know I pushed A. I don't want it to know the difference between pushing A with a 45% pressure or 60% pressure... If I want analog control I'll use the triggers or the sticks.

I completely agree with incognegro. Analog on BUTTONS doesn't do anything for you except give your fingers cramps, not to mention I've ruined 2 controller literally cracking the PCB around the A button from pushing too hard trying to make sure it was registering at full pressure  dry.gif

AFAIK the PS2 was the first controller to feature this, and the ONLY reason the Xbox followed suit was to say they had it too.  rolleyes.gif

Analog controls only work when there are clearly-defined starting and stopping points. Triggers, throttles, and dials all have these. Buttons don't.

blink.gif Wow, you guys must be malnurished and should call in some red cross or something rolleyes.gif I smoke at forza, Midnight Club 3, ATV Unleashed 2 and every other racing game I've played in the past and I'm a medium build guy that does computers for a living and always has chicks commenting on soft my hands are so I'm not some gorilla or anything.  I get more worn out with my left thumb on an old school Nintendo controller.  It's just a game guys you don't have to give it 110%, 100% is just fine wink.gif

and instead of saying remove it how about say give us the option to turn in off in the system, wouldn't that make more sense for the community or is it all about you?

and i also wont miss the feature.  like i said before i dont think that many games really used it outside of sports and racing.

Huh? blink.gif Have you ever looked at the back of of a game box. MOST games say "pressure sensitive"

And I agree with bogus............I have never had to press the button with all my strength, just holding it works fine for me.................before forza, I was like a king at GT3.........and my hand didnt hurt anymore then when I used to play F-Zero on the SNES where the buttons were digital

that could be refering to anything from the analog sticks to the triggers.

On the back of PS2 games it has a separate box for analog and pressure sensitive(the reason as to why the PSX Dual Shock 1 doesnt work with tons of PS2 games). I'm not arguing, just stating the facts. I have also used the function in every game that had it stated on the back of the box, at least for PS2.

Maybe the xbox didnt do a very good job with the Pressure Sensitive Buttons, I feel they are just digital on/off most of the time, on the PS2 I noticed the pressure sensitivity and I loved it.

In PSI-OPS, when you grab a box or a person with your mind, you gotta press down the r-1 trigger slightly harder to raise him or apply a small amount of pressure on the button to lower him. It makes things alot cooler. you wouldn't be able to play that game without pressure sensitive buttons, along with many others.

that could be refering to anything from the analog sticks to the triggers.  im talking about games actually utulizing the analog buttons the the extent like DoAX and football games.  i have a huge collection of games and other then DoAX and my NFL2k games none take advantage of the analog buttons.

I was just at my neighbor's house playing Moto GP 3? (super bike game) and it would have been rediculous without analog... I used analog on triggers and buttons, you have to as in a real bike you have control over front and rear brakes and of coarse throttle ... count that up boys that's 3, and I don't see three triggers.  Honestly I didn't really like the game but I did love the implentation of analog buttons and the subtle control it gave me over the bike.

biggrin.gif (the latter is just for fun) and they do allow you to use the right stick but I don't like using the right stick vs buttons or triggers I tried every which way just to see which I liked best and my favorite config was A for throttle and triggers for rear and front brakes respectfully.
