no the new unleashx does now , and apparently the new qwix will support other non avalaunch dash's on the next release- ithink they've made the boostmode methdology avalaible to the other dash developers now so its a matter of the dash dvelopers implementing it

I´ll do a quick explaination about boost mode.

I useally get 11.000->11.500Kb/s with xbfilezilla (xbmc ftp) and Flashfxp on big files.

But what boost mode means is that ALL negotiations are done via the ftp program and the xbox befor any transfers are made.So for example folders that contain alot of small files get over at the same speed as big files as there is no need to stop between each file as that has already been done.

hi, sorry to bring this up again but is there plans to include quix/ava's boostmode ftp?

the reason i ask is not about the speed this time. it is the iso extraction on-the-fly/upload feature that i like (ie. without having to extract the iso 1st and then upload).

ps. i dont have a dvd burner so i keep the legal backups of my purchased and owned games on my PC's HDD.

thank you for your time.

Thats why you use Ava.  You can boot it from the My Programs button.  XBMC cant have every feature every other dash does.  XBMC is primarily a media player, not a game ripper.

yep, thats what i am currently doing but i was thinking of ditching Ava altogether. not bad-mouthing Ava or whatever (dont get me wrong, i have been using and supporting ava for the longest time now) but since XBMC's excellent implementation of Kai, its time for me to move on i think.

I personally only use XBMC.
I see no reason people, for hte most part, should need to use multiple dashes. The features are all very simular and with AVA adding DVD and most likely more, it seems like they may be trying to get to the XBMC stage soon.

IMO, a few more additions and XBMC is darn close to XBOX Dash nirvana!

The small thing alot forget is that xbmc is opensource.

We can not use any leaked dvdsource to implement menu support etc. Instead the devs have to port dvdnavlib to the xbox and get it to work flawlessly.
This is why there still is no menu support, there is the leaked dvdsource from m$, that many players are based on, but as we are a legal project we wont touch or go near things of that nature.

Just a small explanation :)

well, that feature works for me, using xbmc 11-23 (But so far all xbmc versions from 1.0 work) and Qwix 1.01. I can't manage the titles and the other great stuff u can do in qwix but uploading isos is not a problem.

Just click on Load ISO, FTP Upload.
