tongue.gif )  but remember all the talk j allard and other did about the 360 being "future-proof" ? maybe they actually designed the 360 to be upgradable for a long long time, with relativly cheap add ons? i know this is kind of a strech when you think about the uncertanty of tech companies (mergers ect) and the hardcore gaming market (meaning how many would actually wanna upgrade w/ higher end parts....def. not casual gamers)
i dunno just a thought, they did kinda pound that future proof thing in my head though.

it will include a  HD-DVD at launch or not at all lets look at this logicaly every console in history that has tried to roll out a major add-on such addon has failed miserably anyone remember sony rolling out their harddrive??or sega trying to add the 32x to the genesis?? as far as  billy boy saying it wont have it  1at launch 1of 2 things is going on MS hasnt given toshiba a straight answer as to whether they will use HD-DVD drives or not to see how low toshiba will drop price to get MS  to use em and they also know for a fact that it would realy damage their headstart on ps3 because a lot of people will wait for version with the HD-DVD if they did officaly announce first versions wont have it it but a later version will or as twistedsymphony said ms might just be playing coy till they make their big announcement which is at end of this month sometime  i forget exactly when

Well HD-DVD is defintely important to me as I will buy a hd-dvd player as soon as possible but to have one in my system off the bat would be a huge selling feature. Also when dvd's start to be weeded out over time and the new format takes its place youll wish it had one. And to those who will say.. well dvd is gonna be the standard for a while yet. Initially yes but by the end of year one this wont be near as true a statement. History shows that when a superior medium is available most will convert to the best available as long as the cost is not out of the question. And the cost on the HD-DVD media will be very comparable (another downfall of the PS3 in my opinion)

I don't think it will be too important this generation.  Look how long it took to replace VHS.  HD Media and HDTVs are expensive, and the main consumer body won't be using them very much for at least a couple more years.  When format dominance has been established, MS's next console will include the medium.
