It's a different scenario. Playstation was the #1 of it's generation .They didn't go through profit loss etc which the Xbox went through.
MS lost alot of money making the xbox, they only started making money a while ago. The playstation was much more sucessful, money wise, than the xbox.

im not getting into this argument again.........but its not like the ps1 accessories worked well with the ps2 anyway! I have an analog ps1 controller that i use on my ps2 but it only works with SOME games and dont even ask about the ps1 multi tap.

sony spoiled this generation with promises of being able to use your ps1 stuff with the ps2 and some of the stuff didnt even work anyway. Some games didnt work with the ps2 and accessories too.

The dual shock 2 added "analog" to all the buttons except start and select.. so yeah some of the new games required the newer stuff... my steering wheel worked.

Oh and ALL my old PS1 games were able to use the old cont.  so in that you were able to start off with couple of hundred games that worked with the old controller.  At least you were given that much.

*edit: Just so you guys know, I'm no sony lover... I haven't touched my PS in years... just playing devil's advocate and looking at things logically

Take Deep Breaths.
Punctuation is your friend.

Also, you don't have to have a credit card for xboxlive for the xbox360, not even with this gen.

Speaking of Playstation controllers didn't Sony release Dual-Shock 2 controllers which were needed for some of the games? Kind of a trick to get you to say "Hey i can use my old controllers instead of having to buy new ones" only to find out you actually do need new ones.

the only thing I want to know is if my Plantronics Headset will work with the 360 controller. The plantronics headset is really awesome to use and extremely comfortable, not to mention I paid like $50 for it. I read somewhere that the mute and volume control buttons are on the new 360 headset's cord...so Im a little anxious to see if it will work or if they will be making an adapter or something.

it will work but you'll have no volume control or mute ability without an adapter of some sort... I'm sure we'll see some 3rd party devices eventually (or you could build your own, it wouldn't be that hard).

Please set me straight if I'm completely out of line here, but...
Doesn't it look like you can put your old mem. cards into the front of the xbox360? I'm under the impression that the new mem. cards will fit into those slots on the controller, but if I'm wrong about that, then I'm probably wrong about everything else.
