I think it says "return to Jim To" as in that is the person's name.  Also, this is not necessarily final.  It could just be one model with Samsungs.  As we know with the XBOX, you can have Thomson, Phillips, Samsung drives.  So there could be many.

EDIT:  Who cares who Jim To is?  It is probably the guy's superior or someone who will be collecting all the units at the end of the testing or dev phase.

Unless the dev kits have larger Samsung HDD's, the drive would be the new compact 2.5" Seagates. Those will be the standard drive in the 360 and will possibly come in different sizes in storage later on. The kits must have somthing Samsung in it, probably the dvd-drive since they haven't confirmed hd-dvd as standard, yet.

just because toshiba owns the HD-DVD tech doesn't mean that they're the only ones who can makes the drives.

Sony owns regular DVD tech... you don't see every DVD drive being made by Sony now do you?  rolleyes.gif

Also isn't Samsung MS's "HD Partner" or something?

MS has an extensive deal with Samsung for MANY parts and offers.  LCD screens for in-store displays, DVD drives, HDD's, RAM... I'm sure that that Samsung label could refer to any number of things crammed into that box.  And Twisted is right, just because Toshiba is the main holder of HD-DVD doesn't mean that they can't licence it to Samsung.

Well it could be DVD, could be HD, it could refer to the RAM... who knows what the samsung means.

A person made a comment some where, the type of DVD drive in dev-kits doesn't need to be the same kind as the one in the final version. M$ is writing the code to access the DVD(Or HD) drive, and as such changes can be made.
