somthing stands out quite alot that makes it look fake

No. That little detail managed to slip by us. laugh.gif

thought the 360s were wireless ?

either way if its not fake its quite larg in size comparision to the orginal xbox

any one else agree ?

No. There would be no point in making wireless development controllers outside of product testing. And like Dawg605 said, MS can do that on their own. The developers will have much less time to charge the batteries in these controllers than we will, so it's not a wise decision for them to be in possession of wireless controllers. They have to get cracking on those games. Time expended on charging the controllers can delay a game bit or worse: rush it out before it's finished. They need all the juice they can get; hence, the wired controller you see in the picture.

Cbass182 did a great job of finding a similar Xbox devkit on ebay. In Keva's picture, the crystal box is the Xbox devkit, the dark blue box is the 360 devkit, and the small white cardboard box appears to serve the purpose of housing the shipped AV or power cables and other miscellaneous small items required to get the 360 devkit up and running.

i spent almost 2 hours googling found no images but i found information saying that the beta kits are black and also you are able to purchase wire controllers because it has 4 usb ports on the front & 2 usb ports on the back of the console, so it being wired is perfectly normal, the small white box could be for the controller or for the software package

small items? you mean a chunky big 'special' powercord(ms would do better if they don't start years too late with that), A/V and 1(?) wired controller?

4 those of you who are too lazy too light it up a bit and compare:

I guess it's the grey controller's cable behind the white box.

No kidding. laugh.gif I don't think those are the only things in the box. It's my guess as to what's in there. It's not unlikely, though. I also think the controller(s) the developers receive will be shipped within the box containing the main machine. The white box doesn't look large enough to securely hold a controller let alone three. Wireless or not, I'm sure they're delicate. It's most likely for peripherals. It might include a physical security device to prevent someone from stealing it: maybe a locking cable that requires the developer to mount it on the devkit. And said device will be shipped with the necessary mounting hardware in the white box, right along with the cables. I'm just posing a theory. Make of it what you will.

Xbox 360 Wired Controller
user posted image
Based on the acclaimed design of the Xbox Controller S, the Xbox 360 Controller features an extended nine-foot cable and an improved ergonomic design. The centralized, glowing Xbox Guide Button grants gamers quick access to their digital movie, music, and games libraries. The ultimate in gamer flexibility, precision, control, quality, and comfort are all there.

New and improved ergonomic design enables maximum comfort and endless gameplay.
New left and right shoulder buttons are designed for ease of use.
Two analog pressure-point triggers, two vibration feedback motors, and one eight-way directional pad are included.
The controller includes a nine-foot break-away controller cable.
Experience an unprecedented level of Rumble Control. Set the Rumble Control to Full, Medium, Low, or Off to match personal preferences.
A port for the Xbox 360 Headset is included.

This information came directly from the official Xbox website  rolleyes.gif

Also it's USB based... the Xbox360 features 2 USB ports in the front and 1 USB port in the back... considering there is nothing plugged into the front it can be easily deduced that the controller is either plugged into the back or not plugged in at all.

As for Photo-Choping... I'm quite experienced in Photoshop myself and I can tell you that creating that image from the current 360 images we have would be damn near impossible, As far as I can tell the photo is legit, though there are OTHER ways to tell for sure I don't have access to machine with photoshop on it so I can't verify that till later.

I hope that clears some things up  pop.gif

great find!  I like it in black, but I'm sure that's just cheap plastic so they can get out the kits as economically/speedily as possible.

my vote: it's real.

blink.gif Wow.  This thread BLEW up.

My vote is it's real.
My vote is that it's pretty in black.
My vote is that MS will offer a black version sooner or later.

Ok...  Devkits come with wired controllers.  Read the stickies.  The "brick" on the top of the case is designed to prevent the removal of the removable harddrive.  MS doesn't want devs screwing with the hardware so they probably put a fan in it and locked it down with the warning that says "Don't fuck with this or your fuck up your devkit... then you're fired."

The fact that it's wired means nothing... you've got a dev rushing to test the latest build of his software, why would you want him to be scrambling around for batteries when his controller fails?

Plus, on a site like Bungie's (for example), there could easily be 100+ dev units within range of each other. I know it's no Bluetooth (limit of 7 devices), but at some point there's gonna be some kind of signal overlap, if just the risk of 2 guys hitting "Connect" at the same time on 2 different units.
