It's going to be lots of things, a HD-DVD announcement isn't out of the realm of possibilities, it's not going to be just developers and it's not going to be just an announcement about HD-DVD. If it's as big as they say it's going to be they would have to have alot more to announce and I also think they plan on showing all it's accesories in action and the beta kits power etc.

QUOTE
i doubt it, if it is then great but famitsu already said its going to be an announcement about 3rd party games and such. i dont really see how a HD-DVD drive would excite the japanese gamers. they may talk more about it or even announcement it, but i dont see that being the highlight of the show

im sure theyre going to be some third party anouncement(s) but i definitely dont think that thats the anouncement he is refering to in the interview. Why would he need to prepare a new doa trailer for another company anouncing support for the 360? that makes no sense. Its obviously something that pertains to that trailer. HD DVD makes more sense. Read the quote:

QUOTE
We're currently thinking of whether we should create a new trailer for the upcoming Xbox 360 announcement in July, or if we should go straight ahead to work on the completion of the game,"

i think, i will tell you what the big announcement is gonna be in about a month...

but either way, i kinda hope it isnt about the hd-dvd because i really dont wanna pay more for my system...

the ps3's blue ray drive costs 100$ to manufacture, while a simple 12xdvd drive costs about 10...and ms already said they didnt want to take as much of a per-console loss as they did with the xbox..

but either way, i dont think it will be as much of a let down as last years "sega has awesome news that is going to excite it's hardcore fans"

I don't think it will cost more, the fact is Toshiba really want's to get it's HD-DVD drives out there and M$ was very wary of going with anything but DVD-9 so there must be some sweet deal for them because otherwise I don't see them accepting it. The whole point of this project was to keep it affordable. There have been alot of articles lately about the hardware and why they chose what they did and it was mainly to keep it cheap, so why would they put all the work in keeping the price down then go out and use HD-DVD when DVD-9 would work fine. I think they are getting these drive VERY cheap so it shouldn't effect the price.

wink.gif), I just don't think that's gonna happen.  I'm betting on the announcement of the Price and Release Dates.

The Big News: MS Owns Sony, all your Japanese gamers belong to us or Nintendo, but us since we own Final Fanstay...

I wish for that news, but sure MS's rich enough, but I know they won't do that.

The news is maybe a change in Hardware, new games announced or restored.. can we say True Fanstay Online? Some developers, new ones or one stoled from Nintendo or Sony.

Haha, I believe Nintendo owns the japanese market in the handheld market and Sony in the console market, Seriously look at these console sales between june 20 - 26

   1.  Nintendo DS  - 32,789 / 1,001,428 units
   2. PlayStation 2 - 28,515 / 1,038,891 units
   3. GameBoy Advance SP - 21,904 / 368,384 units
   4. PlayStation Portable - 20,862 / 954,945 units
   5. GameCube - 2,649 / 119,991units
   6. GameBoy Advance - 452 / 12,888 units
   7. Xbox - 184 / 8,008 units

I honestly believe the japanese have started to wear these PS2's as hats....

I know I'm just saying I don't understand how they can sell 28,000 in just one week. This gen is coming to an end and they are still selling massive amounts in one of the smallest markets. I don't understand it.

Did you just say Japan is a small market?!?!?!?!

Japan is one of the biggest buyers for electronics and these god forsaken videogames.
Have you ever been on the streets of Japan or Hong kong? All you see are Kareoke games and street fighters etc. They love videogames!
Japan is one of the biggest videogame markets, let alone electronics markets.

Maybe because they break every month. laugh.gif I went through 3 PS2's since 2000. And we all know how well the PStwo's hold together. rolleyes.gif

Japan isn't as small as some markets but it's population is only 127million, There are quiet a few countries that are much bigger, It doesn't even make the top 5, of course the general population may have more money than some of the other countries, but I think it has always been considered inbetween a small market and a major market such as the UK. If it was bigger I could guarantee you M$ would be doing a hell of alot more to sway people over there.
