The first pictures of the current self development kit for the PlayStation 3 has been leaked onto the Internet and to our surprise, IF these actually are real pictures of the PS3 SDK, it seems that Sony has now won the crown for biggest, bulkiest hardware ever.

Take it for what you will, because we all know how rumors and incredible claims run rampant on the Internet, but its a nice discussion piece...

Additionally, Ruliweb has obtained two pictures of the current RSX chip from nVIDIA, the GPU that will be used in the PlayStation 3 and is already inside the PS3 SDK. Several sources have confirmed that the current PlayStation 3 dev kit has a 2.4 GHz processor and the RSX chip pictured below:

that thing is massive. This may sound like a really stupid question but why is the SDK so different then the final console ?

because final hardwares still not final and devs dont care about ugly boxes.. as long as they get teh work done.. The debug kits will be similar to final console..

sony must have seen the grill ps3 pic's and thought it would be a good idea if you could not only fry hamburgers, but cook a whole chicken at the same time.

but as for size, im not sure its much smaller then x360 dev kits, it just doesnt look as "nice".
