Xbox To Xbox File Sharing Via Xbmc
« on: May 31, 2004, 05:24:00 AM »

I've gotten sharing down with the PC, but I have a lot of files on my various xboxes, and I was wondering if there is a way to xfer between them ala avalaunch.  Is it possible with XBMC?

Also, if someone can tell me how to work file copying with the remote, that'd be swell.  Thanks!

You'd be much better off using the avalaunch dash to do this. It's built in file manager is setup to automatically search for other xboxes on the same network which are running avalaunch and will easily transfer files from one to another once that xbox is located.

Ah yes, but I have many an xbox which each have at minimum a 120 gig drive in them...mostly filled with anime.  Was just seeking a way to play a video from another xbox.

Is there a way to make the xbox appear to have a windows shared folder?  That'd solve the problem as well...  If not, add this to my XBMC wishlist :)

Nope, no way to share media off of the XBox thru XBMC.  No SMB Server, only client.  Its been mentioned before, requested a thousand times over, and may one day be in XBMC, but not now.   <
