12v Fan Mod?

I have a question.  I just ordered 2 360's with the 12v fan mod installed.  The 360s seem VERY loud is this normal?

Also, is the 12v fan mod really a big improvement?

Thanks for the information man.  I don't mind the loudness, I just wanted to make sure it is normal with the 12v mod.
