Excellent, it actually seems to work, only I can't launch a game. How do you launch a game though XBMC's Kai interface?

I've got XBMC 5-29, I'm seeing a button next to the 3 normal buttons (shutdown, MS dashdown, and Modded dashboard) Is that what launches the Xlink Kai Xbox interface.

When I get there, I see 3 menus, Games, Friends, Arena. But none of them seems to do anything. And when I select a game to launch it tells me to put it into the DVD. How do I get it to launch from the HHD.

just start the game and select link game in multiplayer!

do i need to write Xlink tag and pw in xbmc? or do i need to leave it blank?

Can we get a step by step cause I'm getting nothing.

I go to kai and hit games, they're all there but they all say (0).

I think my xbox is not linked with my pc kai engine somehow.

I can't see any games either, but when I go to performance in Kai it says that my xbox is correctly configured so there must be some kind of connection...

a ) Obvious but is Kai running on your pc? if not turn it on
b ) username and password entered in the xboxmediacenter.xml (and actually valid- you've registered on kai website?)
c ) if using static ip using ICS, is the nameserver and default gateway = the ipaddress of the second nic on your pc? thats what it should be. if connecting through router and dhcp is the nameserver and default gateway = ip address of the router?
d ) has pc kai "discovered" your xbox- if not there is a problem there

are those having problems with kai in xbmc not able to connect to kai from their pc's? in which case probably a problem on the pc side, try the xlink faq

Ok got it to work.

It never ever says there are any games even when I got it to work it says (0)

is the above because of the half support/support not official yet?

Can I Play from the HDD? I mean do I have to launch from the kai window or is kai always active once logged-in on PC and XBMC running; therefore enabling me to go to programs and launch from hdd?

I think that the latest XBMC release doesnt have full Kia support yet; just some of the visible features. I'm sure in one of the next few releases, we'll see full integration and Xlink support. But then again, some people here seem to have no problems. I guess time will tell.

To check if it really works, goto the halo arena or RS3 arena. There are almost always people in there.

To start games off the HD, first select the arena, hit the black back button on the joypad, goto programs, and load the game matching the arena you chose.

be sure you have configured your kai tag and password into the xbmc config file. Also on the PC side, you open Kai but dont log on.

Hope thats helps someone here.

Best to have a bios with IGR, that way when you want to go back to Kai, you reset using IGR and load back xbmc and change your arena. No more running to the PC.

I got this to work with the CVS 5-17 build of xbmc. also I didn't have my xtag in my xbmc xml but i had already logged into Kai through the pc side. it works awesome. also one other thing for those wondering, I think xbmc auto detects what games you have on your hdd that support system link. for instance, I have UT Championship and it shows up on the XBMC menu for Kai. my friend has the exact same game but his xbox isn't hooked up to a cat5 cable so UT C doesnt show up in his xbmc. for those who didn't know, some games only show syslink support if the cat5 is plugged into the back.

And they all say (0)

Try launching a game from the HDD I had no luck finding a game once launched.

I treid to login on Kai by XBMC. But XBMC fucks up.
Normaly it run perfect, but after filling in the password.
It says its got a error and asked me to restart.

This is how the *.xml looks.

<xlink>
   <username></username>
   <password></password>
</xlink>

I supose that I have to fill it in like this:

<xlink>
   <username></gebruiker>
   <password></iedereen>
</xlink>

But iff I do that, XBMC says "Error reading value error"
How do I have to fill that in?
