Please post Manufacture Date, Region of Xbox, Country bought, Dashboard/Kernel versions, Lockup reports/workarounds etc. Note: The X2.6 and X3 mod hardware is fully functional with these versions. This is a hacked Bios issue.

I have 2 xboxes just purchased manufactured on 9-13-04 that have the brown cable. They work fine with the M8_16 as stated. Bought in the USA. Manuf in Mexico

agreed, sounds like a reversion to me also. I just got my xbox about a month ago myself, soft-modded with m8_16, works flawlessly.

Superaladdin...doesnt boot in new xbox...boot all correctly but get black screen...if i press OPEN BUTTON, the xbox resets and boots ok (in bios M8 if you press OPEN BUTTON the xbox reset)
All this happen with xbox manufactured 2004-08-13, before this date, xbox with this aladdin was working perfectly-.

i've got a crystal 1.6 2004-08-26 works fine with duo-x2 and m8, also just modded a 1.6 crystal with same mod and bios on a 2004-09-06 with no problems. Both pal and uk.

Never seen one with brown cable in Denmark yet. Huh... Why not 1.7? 1.4 is so similiar to 1.5 that it should be called 1.4B, but ok, I don't care.

canadian crystal (fable/crimson sky) edition, manufactured in 2004-08-13,
tried with aladdin live, boot correctlly(solid green at the front with M8_16) but black screen.... press open bottom and xbox resets ok boots to original bios...

install the same chip in another xbox V1.6 manufactured before that date...worked no problem....

ps: no brown power/eject cable inside

Most probably only Xcalibur firmware has changed. Nothing more. The mobo is the same.
