Hotswapping Problems
« on: November 01, 2004, 06:07:00 PM »

I believe im doing this correctly, connecting the secondary power cable from my pc to my xbox hdd, and keeping the ide cable in from my xbox, as the flubber sequences ends i quickly change to my secondary ide cable on my pc, then go to device manager and detect hardware changes, and it sometimes shows the xbox harddrive, i read that once its recognised on their u can use the HDD Driver to browse ur xbox hdd, i go to find xbox and it displays this:

"Good News
I found an xbox HDD on \\.\PhysicalDrive1"

I click 'OK' and it loads nothing :s, any please feel free to help me

Don't use HDD Driver!!  Get xboxhdm 1.9..  And there is no need to swap quickly at the X-Logo if your dash loads..  You can do it any time after the X-Logo really (or in a game, or maybe at error 12 screen with dvd ide unplugged)..  Use the IDE slot on your pc that is currently hooked up to your main hdd (Primary master) unplug that cable from its hdd..  Plug a PC power connector into xbox hdd..  Now power up your pc and pause it during mem count.  Make sure xboxhdm cd is in drive..  Remove the xbox hdd ide cable and just hold it in place so that all pins are connected before powering up xbox..  This eliminates any struggle trying to get the cable loose..  Just pull it straight back..  Plug xbox hdd into Primary Master and Press enter to continue booting..  Assuming you made the cd with all the files you need you are off to the races..
