so i was thinking since this thing is plastic and white that i might try using rit clothing dye.
i think it might work for a nice finish , i used the stuff on a drozd bb gun that was bright yellow and that thing came out perfectly black like it was made that way
i dont know just a thought ill try my faceplate this weekend and let you guys know

try it, thats how i dye my rc trucks wheels and they come out perfect, it would still be a flat finish just a diff color

i dont know if that is the same thing as vinyl dye, but ive seen alot of people take that route.  it will give you the look of the case coming stock in black.  i think it will look great.

The only thing I would cuation is the effect on the plastic. MS uses a weird type for the system and the dye could cuase some unwanted effects.

I tried this. It does not work. The dye just slides off, after an hour and a half in the dye it left the faceplate as white as it started.

actually this would not work....
the case is made of plastic which when you put it in hot enough water to put the color on it will melt....
the reason the rc car wheels i use dont melt is that they are made out of an odd kind of plastic that can withstand heat very well.... DONT BOIL YOUR CASE

nnnooooo i wanna see what happens try your faceplate (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)   u can always replace that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Just use vinyl dye. That's what I use on beige DVD burner bezels. Comes out looking just fine.

ehhh just ta let yall know it came out like crap after 2hours of dying
so its been painted flat black so dont try it or youll be piss just like me

oh yeah btw before i started this i called 18004myxbox and told them i broke the clips on my faceplate and theyre sending me a new white free of charge just thought id let ya know
