Use verbatims....memorex suck

yes I just updated to 3.0

I can play original MW3 disc and outfit game
I can play others backup disc that is not XDG3.

I could also play MW3 using my A-One Gold disks with 2.0 but can't with 3.0. I've patched with the universal topology data, burned at 2.4x and verified 100%. The disks gives read errors. I've also tried resistor pot tweaking.

Non-XGD3 backups boot and install fine but I'm getting nowhere with MW3 (the STRANGE release)

I have follow the ixtreme tutorial to the Ts...exact hardware, software and setting.
And i am using Verbatim MKM001 disc.

The only interesting thing that i have found is that the verify step will fail on the odd times...even with the perfect setup.

Try using those 2 things on your head called ears, or eyes since we're on the internet.

XGD3 backups pack more data per sector on a disk, they need top quality disks to burn reliably. i.e VERBATIM, it's your only option for a decent burn. I don't care if you got games to work burning them to drinks mats before, you won't now.

Burner quality is more important than disk. While I agree verbatim disks are higher quality, you don't HAVE to use them. I used memorex disks for two of my burns with LT+ 3.0, and they work just fine.

can you tell me what setup you had when burning with a different type of disc beside verbatim disc?
what dvd burner you using and setting ?

There are lots of people like us testing with different brand of disc not just most people in here all they know is verbatim they probably had the verbatim disc lodge in their head. so when people asked questions about diferent burner or disc that was been used to get the xdg3 on firmware 3.0 to work all they know is VERBATIM.
Like I said i had no coaster when using memorex disc with standard dvd burner when playing with firmware 2.0.

Im having this problem too! I only use Verb discs but the thing thats weird with me is my backup of forza was working and now it doesnt!

There is another thread somewhere about how to get other discs to work. Some people have had a lot of success burning XGD3 discs to non-verbatims. I have some memorex but have not been able to get them to verify. Of course there are different types of memorex, you never know who makes them. I think the Ritek made memorex are supposed to work but mine aren't Ritek.
