  Okay, so a couple of days ago I opened my Xbox which had open tray problems.  The disc would spin for 1 second and then immediately respond to open tray on the dashboard.

  I noticed that the laser flashed briefly at the start of the 1 second spin but then stopped as the spin stopped.  

  I attempted to adjust the spindle and compromised it.  

  So now I'm looking online to buy a spindle for that model and brand, and I'm assuming a new laser as well.  

  My question is, will any spindle and laser from that model work with the drive?

  Help would be appreciated.

  Also, if you have a second to google or if you know, could you please tell me the name of the laser.

This might be what you're looking for but I suggest that you just spend the money on getting an entire replacement drive. That site has one for $55.
