Confused About Ripping
« on: July 15, 2011, 04:44:00 PM »

Hi,

I've read the stickies and the forum on ripping/backing up games and i am very confused. I have a lite-on drive in my 360 that has been flashed. How can i rip games?

I have tried the wxripper method but keep getting a crc error. Can i connect the liteon to the pc and backup through that?

i've read stuff about a benq and kreon drive. Can i buy one of those and just hook that to the PC and backup?

any help is appreciate.

Thank you

yes you can purchase a kreon drive they r for the sole use of making images of ur xbox games
kreon drive is made for pc's to read 360 games

as with backing up ive only used image burn n xbox back up creator, if the game images u made arnt working for u then u r probably forgetting to unlock the game or burning the wrong file or perhaps u r using slysoft anydvd

Purchase a pc dvd drive that is flashable with kreon firmware. Then you can boot your computer with it, put in the disc, and use either Schtrom360Xtract or Xbox Backup Creator to rip the game.
Remember if you run the iso through abgx, your stealth files most likely won't match because they're made off of your disc which is actually SAFER than the public stealth files.
Unfortunately if you are trying to rip one of the 6 ap2.5 games, you'll need to rely on abgx's stealth files.

Alternatively you can flash a 360 dvd drive to 0800 firmware and plug it into your computer with a connectivity kit and use it just like a kreon. Only certain dvd drives support the 0800 drive.

Also, dont have slysoft anydvd running if you have it. It causes corruption.

Best backup method is a dedicated drive.

Kreon drive is definitely history.

0800 firmware drive is the way to go.

And unless your xbox360 has a Samsung drive which don't care about AP protection.
Otherwise don't use Samsung 0800 drive for backup.
Wait for BenQ  or Lite-On 0800 v2.0 as they will rips full iso, including correct AP xx data.

But Kreon still works okay if you just play offline right?

short answer is yes

Again Kreon drive will not rip ssv2 correctly or future APxx protection.
