Why was LT 1.1 given the same version number as LT+ 1.1?

I had LT 1.1 thinking I had LT+ 1.1 given the same version number. Subsequently I have a AP2.5 failed flagged console, and a stuffed drive while trying to reflash. All this would have been avoided if the firmware was versioned correctly sad.gif

Oh well... I never used live anyway. But I do worry about having media play and install to HDD disabled.

Dang, my 360 was flagged (Failed AP 2.5 Challenge) for the upcoming banhammer... Well, I guess this is goodbye.

I don't know if this is a coincidence, but Newegg is having a sale on all Verbatim blank media. Kind of funny.

20% off with promo code EMCYTZT271, ends 1/23

You need AP2.5 patches and LT+ to be able to play backups of any game with AP2.5 checks enabled.

that's only true on ALL drives BESIDES Hitachi drives prior to v78/v79 AND Samsung drives.

if you got one of those drives, which i do (Samsung), you can play games like we always have with or without the AP2.5 patches since Microsoft can't enforce AP2.5 stuff on Samsungs (or older Hitachi's) simply because there is no way for the drives to check the AP2.5 data as the drives don't support it.

LT+ is only available for drives supporting AP2.5, so if anyone has LT+ they do need the AP2.5 patches in the backup discs they use. That's why I didn't make that distinction.

The one thing I don't understand: I know that my samsung drive doesn't check AP2.5, but do I need do patch the games or will they work without patching? And if they do work, is it safe for live?

Technically you could have a hitachi 59 or lower than is on lt+1.1 but does not require ap2.5.

Oops, you're right. I thought they'd only been named LT since they were made in conformity with the LT specifications and didn't require AP2.5 protections. That naming scheme would make the most sense, IMHO, but my memory was incorrect. Thanks for correcting me.

I have burned a new Black Ops disc with the AP2.5, but I am still receiving a "Disc Unreadable Error."

Any suggestions?

You have the incorrect firmware. Probably LT 1.1 rather than LT+ 1.1. You've been flagged and will be banned in the next wave.

I don't see why everyone needs a new 0800.  If you want to do legit rips, do them using any 0800 and run the rip through abgx360.  I don't see what the problem is...  Quit complaining about what they don't give you and be happy with the billion things they do give you!  What makes it "legit" is the fact you own the game already.

Also
"How about to release new 0800 that can measure all the info for AP25 as well as SSv2? So anyone can make proper backups."
Read the thread before you post...

Yeah, I initially thought about the justification for not releasing it publically, but I don't think M$ could be in the dark about 'how ap 2.5 SS was being read' , all they have to do is look at a patched image and they have all the info they need. I can't tell ppl here in Australia that they are safe to patch/run backups for those titles at the moment as even if they have a PAL version, the crc's are often different here than UK's.

I'm sure there is a good reason for it (that I can't seem to figure-out currently) but given the situation and the fact M$ have just vested a fair bit into their latest copy-protection, perhaps Xecuter could at least given certain 'trusted/trustable' regional modding orgs a copy of their ripping SW/FW ;-) so that we might be able to upload the patches. Or perhaps they could develop a better way for us to send them originals (preferably the former) As it would seem that TU's or encoded .Xex's are no longer going to dictate AP 2.5 checks......

Is anybody else's AP25 patched backup copy of black ops locking up after breaking out of the chair at the main menu? I have reburned about 5 times, and all copies do the same thing. The game works fine for zombies, single player campaign, and multiplayer, but it locks up within a few seconds every time I break out of the chair.

Hey Scene,

I am just making sure of something.  I only need to reburn these games with a fresh abgx360 check, not rip a new Iso from my stock disc and then run it through abgx360?  Since the database has been updated with new patches they should overwrite the old ones that are currently on my ripped game file.   Is this a correct understanding?

Thanks.
