Backup Procedure That I Used.
« on: January 06, 2011, 04:40:00 AM »

After getting piracy threats from admins, chatting their ears off because of stupid newbie questions I had, and help from other members that gave me tips and ideas, I thought I'd leave a little something on how it turned out, and how I did it.

Well I'll start by saying thanks everyone that made this journey into uncharted land for me, somewhat bearable.

1) My first step that was involved was locating my drives model number, with that I had to take the xbox 360 apart, I had a Torx screwdriver set handy so away I went.

2) After I located my model number as the Toshiba-Samsung drive, I went ahead and took that drive out.

3) I went ahead and got Jungle Flasher and restarted my computer, kept mashing on the F8 button till my advanced menu came up so that I could disable driver enforcement.

4) I connected the drive to the power board of the xbox 360, and one of the 5 sata ports on my motherboard. ( Countless times I failed because for some reason the first and second sata ports wouldnt recognize it, but try I did)

5) After getting that together I powered on the drive, Windows had fully started now, went into jungle flasher, loaded up Xbins, grabbed the iExtreme 1.61 firmware, went into jungle flasher went to MTK flash, clicked on Sammy Unlock, Clicked the "Read" button and let that read.

6) Went into the main tab, and I made sure to save my original firmware and key to a place I wouldn't accidentaly delete it, my USB drive. I loaded up the iExtreme firmware and did the spoofing, to copy the key to the drive. Everything looked good so I went back to MTK flash and clicked "write"

7) Now creating the backups, I had to power up my drive, then power up my PC disabled the driver enforcement, and threw a game into the xbox 360 drive (The drive is connected to my pc via a sata cable.

8) Loaded up Schtroom 4.1 and ripped my game, then loaded up Xbox Backup Creator, and grabbed the SS, PFI, and DMI off the disc.

9) Loaded up ABGX , compiled everything, manually patched the iso with the security files I had just ripped, and threw on IMGburn, threw the burner on 2.4x and sat back and watched everything fly.

10) Now I had to try to play the backup, so I had to flash to LT firmware, and I honestly at this point after making about 13 backups of my games, really have no idea how to precisely get the drive to Read and unlock under 1.61 firmware, but try I will, and success is what I get. I try different methods, such as vendor mode, < 1 second power off, etc. Not 100% sure the exact way I do it but i manage.

11) After the LT firmware is on there, and the disc is burned completely, I go ahead and throw it in the xbox to check, and EVERY single time I have tried to burn a game, it has been 100% success. I tried the hotswap method etc, but after trying for hours and hours I decided to give it a shot and connect my xbox drive to my pc from a whim I had. Sure enough no coasters at all, I use verbatim media 2.4X speed DL discs.
