Guide For Updating Games To Boot On New Lt+
« on: November 23, 2010, 02:34:00 PM »

Hello!

To try and prevent the inevitable posts on how to update your current AP2.5 games to work with LT+ can someone please post a quick guide?

In other words, Im used to my backups just having an ISO and DVD file, burn the backup and boot.

Now, there is patches for these newer games.  Can someone please explain how to patch these games with the patches provided to us?

Thanks a ton!

Doesn't help at all.  There are statements saying to run APBX first then PPF, the later the instructions say do it the other way.

Plus, all that forum says is to run these 2 programs and use these patches.

Anyone kind enough to do a quick rundown of what to do once in the programs?

Hi there

Sorry for the noobish question,

I currently rip backups using the 0800 FW on Ixtreme 1.6, SSv2

Looking at the patching process for AP 2.5 and can you tell me if this is correct??

1) rip SSv2 backup to create the Image
2)Patch the PPF with the fixes located here http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58118
3)Run through ABGX
4)Burn

and then done??

im confused as the SS is SSv1 on the descriptions so wouldnt that be more of a risk on live?
http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58118

and i dont understant about the titles where they say GLOBAL and MARVEL, doesnt that mean theyr downloaded, will they still work if i do patch my official rip?

Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

Good question...

My understanding is that if you are doing your own backup...there will be a new 0800 firmware coming out supporting AP25 ssv3 and probably new version of xbc or S360x

As for team-xecuter ppf patching...read below...you shouldn't be using it to patch your own backup copy.

Remember the PPF is tied to the actual scene release version - it probably will not boot (black screen) if you have patched a version that does not match (however by all means report if you have this problem with complete ABGX log)

As to your question about titles of the ppf...pal, ntsc or rf is self-explained.
LoCal, GOBAL and MARVEL are the names of the release group...no need to say more

cool. thanks for clearning up the confusion ep99

Ive made a SSv2 backup of my Fable 3 disk,

ive auto patched it using ABGX 1.0.4 as i noticed on the patches thread that it does this automatically so i assume ABGX picked the correct replay sector for my copy, works brilliantly all green in ABGX also.

Game boots/runs perfectly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That will be because you have the same version as the one dumped by the release group and this is likely dependant upon SS CRC which we already know is something which can vary greatly between retail versions and territories, even for RF titles.

My query is will subsequent updates for these games always then be safe or could MS then later patch the xex with a new set of c/r's?
