Or the laser is getting stuck and not moving back to the start of the disk.

i dont think its the laser, i have a Hitachi drive and herd someone say that alot of problems occur after flashing their drives, usually with the laser.

So i took apart the drive yesterday, i cleaned the laser with a cotton bud and spirit alcohol until it was absolutely squeaky clean and still the same error occurred.

I reopened the drive and tried to recalibrate the dvd pot, using a meter i measured the ohms at 20k and brought down the resistance from 3.7k down to 3.1k (ive heard under 2.8k will burn out the laser!) my reasoning behind this was to give more power to the laser so it had more ease when it read cheaper media, or even the normal media. Still no luck =(

ill keep you posted on anything else i try, i have reason to believe the laser is fine but it could have something to do with the software, im not blaming the current media im using because the Aone discs seem to work fine for everybody else, but i will try some others if i get a chance.

@majinsoftware: Btw i checked and the laser seems to be able to move freely. i will try some wd40 or grease to easen tracks a little more.. but i doubt it
