Has your Benq drive ever successfully ripped games before or is this a new drive you're setting up?

Have you tried to re flash the drive with ix16-benq-0800 firmware? Also, does you VIA card show up as a 6421 in device manager?

Need Help With Ripping Error.

Ok after a Benq erase and a reflash of 1.6 0800, I tried ripping mass2 again.  At first it froze at about 7% but I think XBC just hanged the system.  Then after try number 2 everything went fine, but the Abgx results were pretty much the same.  It failed at challenge IDs, 90 and 26 but not 48 this time.  I'd like to say that's an improvement but I don't really know what it means.  Either way still Stealth Check failed.  I am going to try to include some HTML readouts of the rips so I can accurately convey the info.  Also I am going to get my hands on a drive from an xbox unit that I know has not been tampered with.  It will be a 7 series liteon, but at least it will give a bit of a control group.
Thanks.

Well, it looks like progress was made. . . .getting past the 3% security sector area. Why it froze at 7% seems weird.
How do you have the Benq attached to your comp (externally, internal bay)? I ask because I run the same setup as you (except for maybe different comp motherboards and methods of connections) and I had to do some finagling to get it to run right.

Need Help With Ripping Error.

Just finished ripping with the other drive that I acquired from a friends xbox.  It is a Liteon 7 series.  It ripped perfectly!  Only the slightest pause at 3.39% before setting speed to 12x which is completely expected.  In abgx everything was green.  The only thing I'm not sure of is after checking it twice in abgx and comparing the two, the RawSS matched.  I have always had it differ, which I read is perfectly fine.  Is there any strange reason to doubt or worry about this rip because they match?
Due to this new evidence i have to conclude that the Benq drive is bad.  It must be something with the PC board.  This is the second drive that I have bought new from Consolesource.com and would strongly caution any scene members from purchasing from this site.  I would like some recommendations as to a reputable site that I can buy an 0800 flashable drive from.
Thanks to wantin2mod for all of the help and challenging ideas.

Great to hear you have it figured out!! biggrin.gif For it to have ripped a couple times and then to start having the same issues as your original kinda points to a hardware issue. That's of course if you haven't installed any new software that messes with your computer.
I just encountered a software conflict which totally messed up my computer in regards of ripping 360 games with my external Benq 0800 drive. I installed "Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6" and my Benq would show up in My Computer but that was all it would do. No ripping, showing no media installed . . . nothing. Weird. I hate trouble shooting software issues. Hardware issues seem to make logical sense to me. . . most of the time.  unsure.gif
On a hardware end, when I would try and use an extra molex from inside my computer to power my Xecuter CK3 Pro in order to access/use my Benq drive, it would FREEZE my entire computer! Wha?! Ever since I have an external molex power supply, it's been smooth sailing!  wink.gif

Happy ripping!
