Some Clear Answers Needed: Lt, Ssv2, Spoofed Fw.

I'll try to answer you best I can based on what I've been able to gather...

LT firmware is the newest firmware that is supposed to be undetectable on Xbox Live. It is currently available for Liteon and Benq drives. 1.61 and below are detectable.

I have read in several places that you no longer have to spoof drives that any drive will work in any 360 (as long as your get the drive key from the old one and flash to the new one).

I don't think you'll have any problem flashing the spoofed drive to LT. Jungleflasher should work fine for that.

With regards to SSv2, from what I've read to be as safe as possible from detection on LIVE, you need to use a drive to rip your originals which will do SSv2. The only drives that will do that are xbox360 drives using 0800 firmware (use 1.60 or 1.61). I bought a benq vad6038 to do this and have retired my kreon drive. Some are still using the kreon and using ABGX to write the SSv2 to the ripped file. I don't know how trustworthy that is so I don't do it.

If you've been playing with live connected then you may already be flagged. There are also reports that info on any disc you play can be written in a memory area on the 360 called the NAND. When you log into Live it sends it's contents.

I strongly suggest you disconnect your 360 from live until you can flash to LT. You may want to consider going ahead and selling that unit and buying another to be really safe if you plan to play on xbox live. If Xbox live is not a concern for you then you could just stay on 1.61.

Hope this helps. This board has been great in the past but I've had a hard time getting anyone to answer my posts lately. They tend to answer things quicker in the firmware forum.  It could be that no ones having much trouble with backups so people aren't checking it as often.

Their isn't anything we actually know to be fact regarding bans , nothing at all , it is 100% speculation. If they did know they would be able to write an undetectable firmware.

The LT firmware cannot be spoofed period. If you are using a benq you have to have a benq already in your 360 , the osig strings wouldn't match and you would get a DVD drive error at startup. If you just want to put a new drive in you can spoof with the older versions of firmware.

If you use LT you do have to have all security sectors correct if you want to be as safe as possible , it assumes you have everything correctly put on the disc. But we don't even know what they check so it really does not matter at all.

The bottom line is that there will never be a way to make a burned disc show up as a pressed disc , every burned disc has the information in different places , every pressed disc is exactly the same. They are always going to be able to detect this. Chances are the system does a firmware check at boot , if it has some other firmware than stock it flags you to be banned , that is just my speculation , but many people think other things.

If you have been on live recently or played any games released in the past 6 months there is no JTAG for you....HDMI has been included in every console for some time now...a few years I think anyways.

Also whoever said something about spoofing is not needed anymore...Spoofing is taking your drive key and flashing a different drive with your key....Like I have a Liteon that's dead but have a spare Benq. So I would spoof the liteon key to the benq...

Dude their is a guy over in another forum trying to say the newest update turned off drive checking , and you can now swap out any drive without flashing the key too it.  And he actually responded back when i called him on it.

yes, and he was probably the offspring of generations upon generations of inbreeding amongst direct family members. I always run into a fair number of those individuals on any given forum.

Like someone else said, any information regarding bans is purely guesswork. There is only one truth that is absolute: you will Not get banned if you do not open it up in the first place (unless ur a deushbag on live or ur account gets phished).

Once you open your console and change or alter any software/firmware, you can no longer consider your console "ban-proof".Thus begins the game of hide and seek. Those who take all available precautions such as make their own backups and use LT firmware, will have damn good hiding spots. Those that play games downloaded off torrent websites & burn them onto CD-RW and play with ixtreme 1 are standing in front of microsoft with their hands over their eyes. So it all depends on how good your hiding spot is. I like to make it exciting, so I don't pick the best hiding spots, as the possibility of being found by Microsoft is kind of thrilling. So far, they completely missed me in november (knock on wood), but who knows, they might just catch me next week!!!
