Jtagged Xbox And Oblivion Disc 2..how?
« on: February 28, 2010, 04:42:00 AM »

Hey all.

Got this nagging problem i cant figure out myself.

I have a Jtagged Xbox, and im running my backup games from the Freestyle dash. The games are on an External USB harddrive. I extracted oblivion (GOTY) into the default folder "USB0://Games" I also extracted the Oblivion Disc 2 in its own folder. But when i try and run it, it tells me that the expansion couldent be installed. IS it even possible to install these expansions with games located on an external device?

Thanks for your reply!

Danner

P.S I also have an internal 14 gb original harddrive which i use for savegames..but duno if it has anything to say.

I get this problem as well. Though I run all games from the internal HDD.

I really want to patch up all the bugs in Oblivion, but like you I get that error. The exact error message is: "Can't load expansion pack. Please try again."

The Oblivion discs are NTSC and my console is PAL. Running disc one is not a problem.

Anyone??? I'm getting desperate here.

Right now the multi-disc question is unresolved. No one is quite sure of an easy solution that works with all games. With some games you can just overwrite disc 1's content with disc 2. Some games you can just quit out and load disc 2.

Your oblivion expansion pack is tricky. I really don't know and I'm unsure if anyone else knows. Try the overwriting trick.

I will try the overwrite trick and let you know how it works out.

But what about this iso2god app? Couldent that be a way to solve the problem with disc 2 or am i missing the point with this program?

Saosin7: I know how you feel man... i will let you know if i get the 2'nd disc to work!

I meant just burning disc 2 and running it.

Disc 2 is just the expansions there is no game content. I have no problems installing disc 2 from a burned copy onto my jtag console. For multigames discs that have content (Blue Dragon, FF XIII, Mass Effect 2) You can just copy all 3 dvds into the same folder (copying disc 1 last so it overwrites the files needed to launch it) and it will play and switch discs automatically (I never even saw the switch disc prompts in FFXIII)

But multi disc games that are expansions only (Oblivion GOTY, Fallout 3 GOTY) it seems you need to burn the expansions, and then you can install them and you don't need the disc again.

Thanks splouce for clearing that up. I burned a copy of the second disc and it worked flawlessly!

Does anyone have any information about this yet?

I don't really want to buy a dvd just to burn this stuff. Anyone?

that game needs to be on the disc to run if you want you can just use image browser to rip the dlc out and then insert updates and content into proper folders...it is just a content installer...i tired everything it wont run off hd...needs to spin off of a disc...i think it is pathed to the dvd drive

Try running it from an official Xbox 360 HDD .. Change the ISO to GoD format with Iso2GoD and transfer the game trough XPort 360 like software or FTP to your HDD. I've read that you cannot run XBL Content from an External Hard drive, not sure if this works though...
