Remove $systemupdate From Iso?
« on: February 03, 2010, 08:31:00 PM »

Here's the problem: Mass Effect 2 tries to install a new dash update but I don't want to install it since i've got an old kernel that can be JTAG'ed.

I do plan on doing the JTAG mod when i get some free time, but until then, is there a way to edit the iso to remove the $SystemUpdate folder, burn it and have it still boot and work correctly on the 360?

I'd say yes if you get the 1.6 that has activate.iso always active. That way the iso wouldn't be proper but the firmware wouldnt care. But, as for editing the iso, I think you are gonna have to consult google.

thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned i've got iXtreme LT on the drive. I found that using 360WavesPatcher and converting it from 6th wave to 2nd wave removes the $SystemUpdate folder from the iso. I am also going to burn Activate.iso and give that method a try.

I will post back later the results after I've tried both methods..

Any joy pal?
I tried this game on Liteon 1.51 and patched the iso to wave 3 and it did not work. Showed up as a dirty disc?
