What is the best burner ?

Samsung SH-S223 DL DVD drive and when looking for a version like this one any Letter after 3 means Updated FW from the manufacture or more Features. Also your DVD drive might support DL Media check the specs on the manufacturer's website or the place you got it from. smile.gif

I have Samsung SH-S223Q hope this helps

will that work ok with Sata DVD burners, or is IDE safer ?

If your mobo got IDE I would stick with IDE that's if you can fine them anymore but if you had to go with the PCI Sata card witch is VIA6421 card you mean then ya you should be ok. I got one but never installed nor did I take it out of the Case that it came in lol didn't need it my Chipset is ICH10R the benq and Liteon x360 drives work great on that chipset never flashed the Liteon so don't know if its Freezes  biggrin.gif
